My name is mike clay aka @alldayjam. I just got back from El Sunzal a small town in between small towns in Salvador. For the first time in a long time, I didn’t bring my laptop along and I cut myself off from the internet world. Boiled my water, winding bus rides, learned to walk on waves, cooked-up plenty of new songs, living with the sun, sweet sweet rhum.
I brought my iPod from the early 2000’s. I got to listen to over and over in different mind states throughout the trip. Really brought back those mixtape vibes. I always need to get reminded how special listening to music can be when I can’t drift off into one of the 26 other tabs I’ve got opened. This is one habit I’m going to try and keep.
