The Specials 2Tone Ska Special

The Specials are the birth of a new ska-era. Leader Jerry Dammers founded the 2tone label at the end of the seventies. Together with bands as Madness and the Selector they captured the world with the 2tone ska revolution.

Elvis Costello produced their debut album in 1979. Prince Buster was a big influence for The Specials. They covered his songs Too Hot and Enjoy yourself.

In the nineties it was time for a reunion. Jerry Dammers didn't want to join. They recorded Todays Specials on Ali Campbell's Kuff label. In 2011 the band is still touring around the world.
