Strange Cadence is an independent record label and event series run by @Middle-James, dedicated to showcasing the intersection of jazz, deep house, techno and leftfield electronic. Based in Sydney, the label is driven by a passion for groove-rich productions and live performances where musicality takes center stage.
This new mix series shines a spotlight on the vibrant Australian underground music scene, following with Eora/Sydney-based producer and DJ @nicche_music. Blending beautifully tuned techno frequencies with meditative, complex rhythms, this mix is both a sound bath and a dynamic exploration of genre fluidity. Nicche seamlessly weaves through techno, bass, house, dub, UKG, breaks, indie dance, jazz, funk, rap, and - most importantly - his own original productions. The result is a lush, intricate journey that’s unmistakably his.
