Description
This week's Bestimix is compiled by a dab hand in the fine art of partying and playing upfront club music. Having made his name DJing alongside the Chemical Brothers and at the famously debauched mid-'90s Heavenly Social parties, Jon Carter has subsequently channeled his love of acid house, dancehall and hip-hop through his various musical projects, from Monkey Mafia to his records with Wall of Sound (including 'Irratiational Anthem', with Banksy!) to his latest band Roosevelt High.
These days, Jon is one of the chaps behind of Camden's marvelous live music stalwart and reliable drinking den, the Lock Tavern, where he also plays at Rob da Bank's ludicrously popular Sunday Best nights.
A summation of his wide-ranging tastes, Jon's Bestimix spans chest-puffing Jamaican dancehall, brain-cell scrambling 5am after-hours house tracks and, of course, a number from his old muckers The Chemical Brothers...
