Description

Big thanks to Lee Buers for the 149th "Straight From The Play Box" mix.

"So I started going to Soul nights in Bucks and London in about 1983 graduating to nighters about a year later. Like many I was really influenced by the sixties mafia of Keb & Guy but also Adam, Ian Clarke & Sam and of course Butch.
Started collecting seriously in 1986 my first record: The commands - Hey It's love, 2nd: James Cobin & the prime cut.
Did a bit of guest DJ-ing in the late 90's broke things like Lil Mary Staten at the 100 club, ran a small night called ARSE in London with Marco.
Had a few breaks from the northern scene (kids) and forays into other genres and nowadays collect across the board. Love the European scene and the emergence of fantastic 80's nights - to be fair we've had a great crack of the whip and today I for one never thought i'd be dancing in a ballroom in Germany to the Springers "Nothing's too good for my baby" when I first heard it in 1984"
