You’ll notice the cover art notches it up a gear on this volume (thanks Kath)! To be fair, I was saying “mmm … Cosmic” an awful lot at that point, which was deservedly inviting the mockery and scorn of my Vinyl Exchange work colleagues! This combined with a long VX tradition of embellishing Demis Roussos record sleeves to be more like me!
They’d also taken to writing “wrong speed – 33+8 cosmic classic” on any old pile of shit and leaving it on my desk by this stage: suffice to say I was driving them all a bit mad incessantly playing poor quality hissy old Baldelli tapes all day long! My obsession was hitting fever pitch by now, as the inclusion of the ‘oh-so-expensive’ Phil & Friends Band 12” will testify: still the most expensive record I’ve ever bought.
