There’s a big gap, almost a year, between Vol.3 and Vol.4, but I don’t think when I made the first two mixes that I had any idea what the response, and the effect of that response would be. As I said in my first post, I had pretty much given up on DJing at that point, with just the odd guest spin at Aficionado keeping me going. After the mixes started to be passed around, I suddenly had gigs coming up all over the place again – which was nice.
Furthermore I had started to get asked for mixes as well, and this was one of them. I had been buying records from Chris “Soft Rocks” Galloway for a few years, and as the 21st century trundled into gear, he had launched his Pure Pleasure Music website to replace his old mail outs. He very flatteringly asked for a mix for the site, so I decided it was time for another volume in this series.
