here’s another in the “oldie but goody” series of delves into the vault of old mixes. A mix I recorded to accompany the online version of an interview I did for iD Magazine (I know – ME in a style mag? Whatever next?). It was recorded between two visits to San Francisco that year, on the first of which I played a few gigs in the city and met a whole bunch of lovely people, many of who are now old and dear friends. The highlight was a rooftop house party in Haight Ashbury on Balearic Wife’s birthday, where she got to make friends with some “real American cops”!
The gigs were all a lot of fun, and went well enough to get myself invited back in September to play the wonderful Chillits Festival at Camp & Sons, followed by a pretty full-on weekend of 4 gigs in 4 days/nights in LA under the care of Travis K.
This was recorded right before that trip, and a lot of the tracks here were played at Chillits.
