Hey music lovers.
Time for another “oldie but goodie” from the vaults.
If you liked the Cosmic Alphonsus series I did, then you might well like this one too. Recorded May 2004 (I think?), between Cosmic Alphonsus Vol.3 & 4, and given away as a free CD to the first 50 guests at Kelvin Andrews ‘Soul Mekaniks Time Machine’ night at The Social in Nottingham.
Nice mix of new(ish) and old tracks, some hilariously ‘Balearic’ mixing (bad meaning bad) and covering everything from slow and dreamy to full on poppers ‘n’ glitter disco tunes. Actually the Richard Hewson track brought on a barrage of mass abuse from the entire Vinyl Exchange dance dept. (actually, all the staff) who loathed it and used to refer to it as my disco b-version of “What shall we do with the drunken sailor”. In fairness, it’s not far off, but I still love it.
