Balearic Mike - Electric Elephant Twilight Beach Bar Set - 12/07/2014

Meant to post this up earlier in the week, but it’s still the anniversary so it’ll do.
Recorded live at Electric Elephant in Tisno 6 years ago this week. Still my favourite year. This was Saturday evening, about 8:00 pm until 9:30 pm, starting with an empty dancefloor at the Beach Bar, just as the sun was starting to set. By the end of the Bowie record the floor was already pretty full, and it just kept on building.

Perfect setting, perfect crowd, and I had the Down To the Sea And Back Boat Party to look forward to the next day!

Actually, this was the year it nearly didn’t happen – huge storms hit that night, and it looked like it might be cancelled. Next morning was a flurry of panicking text messages going back and forth, until one arrived from Chris Massey saying: “Balearic Dunkirk spirit – it’s happening!”

Crew were literally using hairdryers to blow the rainwater out of the speakers and dry them out minutes before we set sail.
