Roots reggae is the music of the Rastafarian tradition. It speaks to the spiritual, political, and socially conscious message of God, called Jah by Rastafarians. I’ve included a range of roots stylings in this mix including the traditional, digital, and dub. The tracks all a bit on the darker side, both in lyrics and in sound, but I’ve found that the positive message still manages to shine through.
