The beginnings of Mr M's DJ adventures. By 1988 i'd already been aware and buying house for a while, it was really the acid house party sound that captured my imagination. First hearing "Land of Confusion" by Armando on a John Peel session (Still have that tape!!), a young Mr M was hooked into this world of exclusivity, inaccessibility, underground, break from the norm music. In those days you didn't hear this kind of stuff on the radio, it wasn't a stand out purchase at your local HMV or Our Price, when you heard someone playing this music you had an instant connection with them, because they were "in the know" just like you. Recorded on the trusy Technics rinsing out some classics from 1988. Recorded in the late 90's on mini disc which is usually spot on, but the worn out Stanton needles maybe adds to the magic along with the warm crackle of my "partied" vinyl and takes you back to a time when a smiley meant more than just a friendly post script on a FB comment. Enjoy!!
