"The Canadian census is a massive undertaking: The last one, in 2011, cost the federal government about $652 million. And this year Statistics Canada has hired 35,000 temporary workers to gather all the data it needs. Contact asks how the census affects us on a daily basis. * Starting on May 2nd, the Census Help Line will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. across all time zones. You can call 1-855-700-2016 for help completing the questionnaire or to request the questions in braille. There is also a TTY number: 1-866-753-7083."
