Mark Robinson presents: Jazz Down Under (30 March 2025)

Nicknamed The Jazz Cyclist Mark Robinson spends much of life on two wheels listening and discovering music and vistas. Mark plays new and old releases from musicians, arrangers, writers, producers and sidemen who have connections where he lives, “Down Under” in Oz.

This month includes four tracks featuring Sydney born Ray Warleigh; two tracks with the Tommy Chase Quartet and two tracks from (still) one of my favourite 1980’s LP releases “Look Inside” by Paz. As new releases for 2025 start to trickle through we pick out the best ones from Australia and New Zealand. Also, a beautiful unreleased track by Nathan Haines, featuring Tama Waipara on vocals, taken from a rare live gig.

This edition there are new and old tunes from The Antipodes, a small tribute to Roy Ayers; an Australian connection and two tracks that are two of Mark's favourites from Roy, plus a Jazz Funk selection for the last hour.
