Götz Bühler presents: Jazzahead! (13 October 2026)

jazzahead! Honk if you like Big Bands!

Smack dab in the middle of assessing the 770 applications for showcases for jazzahead! 2027 with our juries, Artistic Director Götz Bühler thought it was fitting to dedicate this edition of our jazzahead! show to some of the Big Bands we love.

Kicking it off with "The Fierce Urgency of Now" from a recently released album by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, these 59 minutes explore the vast variety of possibilities a large ensemble offers, from the Brainteaser Orchestra with Lizz Wright via jazzhead! alumni Oumuamua Evgenij Zelikman Orchestra, Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra, and Norrbotten Bigband to classics from Peter Herbolzheimer Rhythm Combination & Brass and BujazzO on to the Jazzrausch Bigband and the Latvian Radio Big Band.
