This month Fuse brings new releases from Adèle Viret Quartet, Alice Zawadzki and Joe Webb and celebrates the Norwegian festival Punkt. Interviews with festival co-founder Erik Honoré, artist Julien Desprez and host Fiona Talkington are mixed with releases from the Punkt family and there is an excerpt of the seminar with David Toop and Carsten Nicolai who speaks of his work with Ryuichi Sakamoto.
Fuse throws light on expressive artists who release music with a 'no rules' attitude, drawing on inspirations that are genuine and heartfelt. It's jazz that likes to bump up against the edges, touching on a myriad of genres be they traditional folk, electronica, chamber music or rave. There is a focus on new releases from Europe, as well as, Africa, America and Asia, but always makes room for classics that are as relevant today as ever.
