"Through the sheet of sunlight at the doorway and down the incline into the crazy gloom comes a panel truck and in the front seat is Kesey. The Chief; out bail. I half expect the whole carnival to well up into a Fluorescent Yahoo Of Incalculably Insane Proportions. In fact, everybody is quiet. It is all cool." So begins chapter two of Tom Wolfe's The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test and an introduction to our main subject. I haven't spent much time discussing the non-music players in the psych scene, but Kesey is an interesting one, in fact there's a whole book about it. But although all was cool with Kesey's arrival, we are going to take a cue from the earlier part of that sentence and this show's music is going to well up into a Fluorescent Yahoo Of Incalculably Insane Proportions by deploying a two-hours stream of excessively psychedelic songs. I know this show is often psych music, but these are especially psychedelic, just dripping with acid. Enjoy.
