It seems every year it creeps in further... commercialization and frivolous distractions overtake the real focus of the holiday. It seems that people forget that there's more to Christmas than getting gifts, stuffing your face, spending time with loved ones and celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior. But somehow they do. As we all know deep in our hearts, Christmas season is really all about the absolutely absurd songs. For a minute, put aside the so-called "classics," the boring pap that is O Holy Night, Stille Nacht and Away In A Manger, and get on board with the madness bubbling up beneath. Tonight we explore all facets of craziness including characters outside of the accepted Christmas cannon, bizarre characterizations of jolly old St. Nick and when the holiday turns to violence and despair. These are the wackiest and the most inexplicable ones I could find in the years since my previous undertaking. Show some mercy, I include quite a few purposefully comedic songs as well.
