Welcome to the last episode of the year. 2022 was another weird year, which makes like 7 in a row, but hey, now it is finally over. Near the turn of the year I like to do an episode I dub my Winter Light episodes, these are always folk song heavy and are usually quiet and stark but sometimes also strangely uplifting or comforting. The best way to understand it is to listen to this episode or some past ones. It is one of my favorite episodes of the year, and this year's is another corker. Here are the past year versions of this same theme: Up On The Roof, And Just Like That, I Can Feel My Soul Grow Back, Bryter Layter & Winter Light. We are now at ten hours of this brand of music and 5 snowy, and mostly white and beige, images.
Title comes from the original Swedish title of the film Winter Light. The literal translation is The Communicants. This film partially inspired the title of the program and influences the tone of each of these playlists.
