The Tuareg are a nomadic peoples who inhabit the Sahara desert in an area stretching from southwestern Libya to southern Algeria, Niger and Mali. They herd animals, grow food and play guitars!!! For years they have been struggling to claim some territory as a homeland and the Desert Blues music developed by the Tuareg in the 1970s and 80s has been a big part of their cultural identity.
