My name is Ilaria, journalist and founder of Wempower. I am specialized in gender issues, human rights and geopolitics, with a specific focus on Turkey and the Middle East. I have traveled to over 30 countries, lived in Italy, Turkey and now in the UK, and I am passionate about people and stories. I have launched Wempower in 2020, in the middle of a pandemic. It was a “Now or never” kind of thing!
My mission: give voice to all the women out there that are doing incredible things to change the status of gender and women rights across the world. Ordinary extraordinary women that don’t get the chance to be represented on mainstream media. I believe that every story deserves the first page (or a podcast episode), and Wempower is here for this.
