Hattie (she/her) and Rebecca (she/her) co-host the podcast and online platform Things
Musicians Don’t Talk About. Hattie started the project during the hazy summer of 2020, with
an aim to create the community she wishes she’d had whilst struggling with severe mental
illness in music college. The team has now expanded to include producer and audio editor
Katy Ehrlich.

The podcast has now interviewed over 50 musicians and industry professionals. Recent
guests on the podcast have included Ingela Onstad (psychotherapist, performance coach
and soprano), Dr. Kate Kennedy (broadcaster, academic, cellist and writer), Seb and Verity
of Three in a Bar podcast, Betty Makharinsky (soprano and co-founder of Vache Baroque
Festival) and Hannah French (Radio 3 presenter and flautist). The podcast received Highly
Commended in the Classical Music Digital Awards 2020 and continues to campaign for the
awareness of mental illness and discrimination within the arts.
