Salam Kitty is a DJ and promoter based in Glasgow. They began DJing as a sonic exploration into their mixed cultural roots and queer identity, using music as a way to connect to their heritage and local community.
As the co-founder of QTIPoC+ party Mojxmma, Salam Kitty began throwing parties in early 2020, out of necessity for a safe space for Queer PoC. Mojxmma has become a staple in the local scene, providing a platform to celebrate the talent of local and international BPoC, with past guests and collaborators including the likes of TYGAPAW, Blck Mamba and Byrell the Great.
Salam Kitty’s show on Voices Radio will bring a taste of the Glasgow scene to the airwaves, showcasing our local QTIPoC+ talent and the sounds of Mojxmma. Expect an eclectic mix of bass heavy and percussive genres with fun jersey-style edits, afro-electronic and left-field experimental techno and electro.
