red bananna is Anna Fillat, a collector and selector of vinyl music since she was 15 years old. From early on, she has been in contact with music from all over the world, expanding her horizons through her research as an anthropologist.
Her interest in ethnomusicology combined with her academic background in music has led her to curate parties in Barcelona, and to be part of music research projects that seek to promote non-mainstream vinyl music and cultural exchange.
She is also part of Eck Echo records, a record label and platform for (Afro) Latin culture and music based in Berlin, with a special but not limited focus on South America. It draws on the figure of the ‘ekeko’, an Andean popular figure hailing from the depths of the Andean plateau of Bolivia and Peru.
