Description
Blending ancient folk traditions with bold contemporary flair, Wise Woman create a rich fusion of folk harmonies, cinematic strings and 90s girl power. Their music, described as “startling and shimmering” by Folk Wales, draws from folk, jazz, and musical theatre, creating a unique sound that captivates audiences across the UK. Formed in the depths of a pandemic winter, the group has since performed on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune, supported The Young’uns, and appeared at leading festivals including FolkEast and Celtic Connections. Their repertoire ranges from traditional ballads to original songs about fenland witches, drag artists, and more, all delivered with powerful vocals and spellbinding storytelling. Their upcoming EP Home Safe, due for release in March 2025, is a vibrant celebration of a cappella folk singing, recorded live in the historic village of Blaxhall, Suffolk. Wise Woman are Anna Pool, Lydia Bell, Charlotte Vaughan & Maddie Cutter.
