This month's Queer Folk Radio features musician Shy Charles! Shy is a self-taught Celtic harp player, drawn to historical songs with strong narratives and mystical themes, but who also never shies away from the pleasure of covering a song in an incongruous genre! Like Dolly Parton, Shy has adapted their playing style to having long nails, which gives each note a slightly harder idiosyncratic twang than is usually heard on harp recordings. As a solo artist and as a band member, Shy has played at Glastonbury Festival and Institute of Contemporary Arts as well as many smaller art, folk and LGBTQ+ venues. Presented by Sophie Crawford and including tracks by Angeline Morrison, Planxty and Sinead O'Connor!
