This month's Queer Folk radio features Alice Dillon! We'll be talking about the queerness in Warrior Women Ballads, playing some of Alice's music plus her favourite tunes from the Young Un's, Lankum and Mimi and Richard Fariña!
Alice Dillon is a folk singer and song-writer based in Edinburgh. She was a semi-finalist in the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards 2016 and her debut album, On a Green Growing Tree, came out the same year. She now sings both solo and in the duo Peerie Faeries. Additionally, her recently completed Masters dissertation explores the queer and feminist themes in the warrior women broadside ballads and the Terry Pratchett novel they inspired, Monstrous Regiment.
