Fear or excitement? Neurologically, it's both. Both activate the same responses in the sympathetic nervous system. The only difference, then, is the way we interpret it. Be it public speaking, opening up to someone, commitment… for somebody who has had positive experiences with these, the thought of them will make them feel excited. But for someone who has had negative experiences, the very same idea will fill them with fear. Can we really change how our brains interpret our bodies’ reaction to the world around us? Is it possible to interchange them, to feel both at once? Only on the dance floor.
