This month’s No Agenda show is a love letter to the bootleg. There’s this idea in DJ culture that to be serious, you’ve got to chase obscurity - that edits are trashy, that real artistry lives in the rare and the unreleased. But there’s something radical about edits: taking what already exists, twisting it, and making it your own all on zero budget.
Most of my favourite tracks live in the depths of SoundCloud and bring me way more joy than anything in Beatport’s It’s the sound of the familiar reimagined, where mainstream meets the underground and of culture reclaimed from the polished and the privileged. So this month's show is for the working-class producers, the SoundCloud artists, the DIY remixers - the people who remind us that art doesn’t have to be “serious” to make you dance, and the whole reason we're in the club is to have a good time.
