Description
The energy drops deeper and more after-dark here. Boe & Zak ease us in with the nu-disco lilt of "Looking For Love" before D Stone's "Total Unison" takes over, a Cecille cut built on a 70s disco sample that opens into one of those euphoric, let-go breaks. Dave Lee, Omar and Grant Nelson bring the soulful sweep of "Starlight", and Rubb Sound System keep things moving with the jackin' swing of "Cast A Spell".
Then we head properly underground. The Vision's "Down" with Dames Brown lands in Riva Starr's rugged VIP, Groove P & MYOB keep the groove rolling, and Sean McCabe's rework of Lee Genesis' "Ya Can't Separate Me" reminds us how much weight a great vocal can carry. We close through Shur-I-Kan's stripped, late-night "Track Two", Jimpster's hip-replacement rub of Osunlade's "Momma's Groove", and Kerri Chandler's Kaoz dub of Studio Apartment & Monique Bingham's "Found Him". Lights low, volume up.
