All of these tracks were released on Philadelphia International Records & the sister label TSOP and all of these tracks were released in the eighties. After two shows with the finest Philly sound from the seventies (the golden Philly Era) let's take a look at the eighties of this big label this time. Except for the early releases of the eighties, the magic has been somewhat lost. With the advent of electronics in the eighties, there was no room for opulent instrumentation. As with my show "Motown In The 80's" there are also some pearls to discover. Unfortunately the label could not sign many new artists and so the label was sold in the second half of the 80s and closed.
It's no secret that I love the 70s Philly Sound. And these 80s tracks are still very worth listening to and too good to be forgotten.
