Musician Special: The Jones Girls Singing

The Jones Girls (Brenda Jones, Shirley Jones and Valorie Jones) from Detroit, Michigan, are the best female harmonic vocals in soul music. That's why I've put together a little insight into her wonderful work on the microphone at the end of the year. Since it wasn't intended to be the "Best Of" of their four top-notch albums on Philadelphia International Records, I mainly chose songs that they sang for other artists. The focus is more on the lead vocals, of course there are countless recordings where they were used as background singers. There are also two singles from the early years when they were still under contract in Detroit and a song by Shirley Jones from her solo LP where her sisters can also be heard.
