Description

Now we have arrived in 1984 from my series of 80s dance music. It reflects the zeitgeist of each year and takes a look at how music changes from year to year. In 1980, many classic disco elements from the seventies spilled over into the new decade. From 1981 onwards it was more the disco funk and boogie that was very dominant, as well as some post disco productions. In 1984 it became more and more electronic and it was the year of breakdancing. The last old school rap songs were tailor-made for the dancefloors (new school rap was already knocking on the door), Hi-NRG and disco pop in all its facets forcefully pushed itself out of the charts and into the discos. Have fun with my look back at 1984.
