Description
The Cocktail Disco Sounds are back with part 10 and one again selected with love. This series stands more for the soft disco sounds and less for the big disco hits of the seventies. This time there are some songs by real jazz artists who, like so many back then, jumped on the disco bandwagon but still didn't sell their jazz gene. Such as: Ramsey Lewis and Hank Crawford. It gets a little cheesy with Patrick Norman and the Barry Manilow cover "Could It Be Magic" by Dante's Inferno, a big hit by Take That in the 90s. Harold Melvin gives us one of the first epic disco songs in a wonderful Philly guise. Since the carnival was just taking place, I brought Fantasia with me and at the end you will find a version of the Boney M classic "Daddy Cool" by one of the greatest German composers and orchestra leader Peter Thomas as a tribute to Frank Farian, who unfortunately passed away on January 23rd, 2024.
