WARNING - Strong Language and Dope Beats throughout!
Believe it or not, but tomorrow marks the 45th Anniversary of Hip-Hop culture! Back in 1973, a Jamaican DJ named Kool Herc with an MC named Coke La Roc would hold a party for Herc’s sister at Sedgewick Ave in the Bronx that would change the world as we know it today, little knowing that he would be starting a musical revolution (and indirectly start Breakbeat, Big Beat, Drum & Bass etc along the way!) To celebrate this legendary day, here is a special 85 Minute DJ Mix I did of some of my favourite Hip-Hop and Rap records released over the past 45 years (as you will see from my mix, my tastes in Rap are fairly Old School for the most part!). I hope you enjoy it, and stay funky - Word!
