Do you remember the music magazine VOX? It was a sister publication to the NME, intended as a rival to Q magazine. First published late 1990, by the summer of 1998 it was finished. In one of its early publications – January, 1991 – they published an article called “100 records that shook the world (part 1)”. My show takes a look back at their Top 50 nominations which included records from 1969 to 1989, 23 of them singles and 27 LP’s.
I do a rundown of their Top 50 and play 15 tracks from the VOX selections. As ever with these retro lists, some records have stood the test of time far better than others – see what you think.
