The August Bank Holiday weekend signals another Reading Festival. I took a look back half a century to the 1974 event which was billed as the “14th National Jazz, Blues & Rock Festival”. Headliners that weekend were the (Sensational) Alex Harvey Band, Traffic and Focus, with 10cc, Procul Harum, Thin Lizzy and Steve Harley among the many others appearing.
