PAUL WELLER, aka “The Modfather”, has had a storied career in the music industry, starting with The Jam, then the Style Council and, since 1990, a hugely successful solo career. 20 years ago this month, he featured in ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY and listed his then favourite albums. A decade later he updated this list so we now have a total of 22 of his favourite albums. I do a rundown of this list and manage to cram in excerpts from 18 of the albums in this hour-long show.
It’s a very good eclectic selection which includes David Bowie, the Kinks, Laura Marling, the Beatles, Nick Drake, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and others with one or two surprising choices.
