The 4th in my mini-series of Legendary Lost Venues features Newcastle’s CLUB A’GOGO which was at the heart of the British R & B boom of the early/mid ‘60’s and where local up-and-coming bands learned their craft from visiting American bluesmen. Let’s revisit those times and some of the many acts who appeared there – the Animals, John Mayall, John Lee Hooker, Spencer Davis Group, Chris Farlowe, Fleetwood Mac, Jimmy Reed and many others.
