The latest theme in my HISTORY OF ROCK series for River Dee Radio is ANSWER SONGS. Since popular music began there have been many examples of musicians who have responded to an earlier song – perhaps by a rival – with a musical reply of their own. I’ve picked out 11 examples of this, playing both the “before” and “after” versions of songs from 1953 to 2001.
