Frank Watson examines the relationship between photography and sound. This week: Frank's guest is Shirley Read, a curator, writer, teacher and photographic historian. Shirley has previously worked with Camerawork and initiated The National Conference of Socialist Photography. As an independent curator and consultant, she has developed a wide range of exhibitions including a major retrospective of Jo Spence. Over the last three decades Shirley has worked with The British Library undertaking extended interviews with many leading UK photographers for the Oral History of British Photography sound archive.
