Description
A weekly show hosted by urbanist Donald Hyslop. This week: a show of two parts, looking at past and present, linked by themes of ordinary people caught up in conflict and confronting challenging circumstances. Rosemary Sturge is a British author known for her historical novels and short stories. After a career in teaching she turned to writing and has since published several books that blend historical research with mystery and romance. We discuss her life and latest publication, Clouds over Borland, set in a 19th century Lancashire town during the Napoleonic wars. Back to the present: with the conflict in the Middle East resonating across the globe we turn to long-time friend of the show, Don Ritchie. As Emeritus Historian of the US Senate he helps us understand the out of the ordinary events we are living through the lens of the US Constitution.
