#67: Barnet's inclusive arts centre Community Focus presents weekly recordings from its Dis-labled programme. This week: in a special episode, we follow Laurent Barsotti's remarkable journey from Community Focus to exhibiting at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2026. We begin at Varnishing Day, where Royal Academician Humphrey Ocean explains why Laurent’s London bus painting stood out from thousands of entries and earned a place in his room. We also hear from comedian Harry Hill, an admirer and collector of Laurent’s artwork. Then, Laurent and his mum Chantal share the story behind this wonderful achievement. From developing confidence through art at Community Focus to seeing his work displayed on the walls of the Royal Academy, it’s an inspiring story of creativity, perseverance and passion.
