Calling All Pensioners - 6 October 2025 (Calls To Boost Local Housing Allowance)

Magazine programme with Tim Hamilton, addressing issues which affect pensioners across London. This week: England-based pensioners’ charity, Independent Age on its continuing calls to the UK Government to use the Autumn Budget to increase Local Housing Allowance, which determines how much Housing Benefit people receive. Many older people are struggling to pay their rent and are having to cut back on essentials to make ends meet because Housing Benefit is falling short. Age UK advises you to keep up with changes to the benefits system which can be complicated.
