Calling All Pensioners - 19 January 2026 (WASPI Women's Bid For Justice)

Magazine programme with Tim Hamilton, addressing issues which affect pensioners across London. This week: the National Pensioners Convention (NPC) details Women Against State Pension Inequality are set to send 1 million letters asking MPs to back their bid for justice for the 1950s-born women in their claim for compensation. Also, the NPC shares that it hit the headlines at the turn of the year in showing the power of its campaigning for the rights of older people. Age UK highlights that corridor care cannot continue in urging you to join the campaign in demanding an emergency response. Our further musical tribute is to Chris Rea, aged 74, who was an English rock and blues singer-songwriter, guitarist, keyboard player and record producer and active from the early ‘70s.
