Age UK shares its Christmas appeal and highlights almost a million older people will face a hidden crisis this Christmas: loneliness. The charity explains its friendship service offered through their Silver Line helpline which provides a listening ear 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our further musical tribute is to Jimmy Cliff, aged 81, who was a Jamaican ska, rocksteady, reggae and soul musician, considered one of Jamaica's most celebrated musicians.
