Absent Fathers is an ongoing work-in-progress radio experiment where artist Leon Clowes tackles this difficult issue in nuanced ways. Inviting thoughts and experiences of paternal loss (physical, emotional, spiritual), each episode includes voice notes, diary writings, song dedications, letters and reflections from Leon and many public contributors. In the second programme of the series, Leon talks to artist Sarah Archdeacon about her play "Washing Machine Vortex,” in which she explores coming to terms with the strange and sometimes uncomfortable experiences of her childhood.
