Our albums of the month first take us to Africa, with folk sounds from the Comores islands on Glitterbeat, southern Moroccan Amazigh blues music by Hassan Wargui (Hive Mind), Mdou Moctar’s tamashek rock album (Matador), Les Pythons de la Fournaise and their maloya & sega sounds (Catapulte) and Brussels female duo Mazima and their modern children songs. Some jazz, afrobeat & afro cuban funk by Muito Kaballa Power Ensemble (Rebel Up) and a Jamie Branch live album in fiery jazz mood (International Anthem) In a more tropical mood with the roots-dub-cumbia by Krak In Dub (Galletas Calientes) and the compilation Club Coco selected by Coco Maria with lots of new latin artists and EP by Cameroon producer Nkom Bivoué in afrohouse and bass.
