Our Albums of the Month take us to Venezuela and the Niger Sahel. 1st one is by Betsayda Machado & La Parranda El Clavo with 'Loé Loa' (Odelia label) with traditional Afro Venezuelan percussive 'tambor' music and vocal chants from the cocoa plantations. 2nd album is the new album by Les Filles de Illighadad, ' Eghass Malan' (Sahel Sounds) for some female desert blues and tradi modern 'tende' music for imaginary campfires. Label focus is on Colombian label El Polen and their 10 year anniversary, which releases traditional, contemporary pop and electronic artists from Latin America.
