Mahmoud Gania was a true master musician of the gnawa tradition until his death in 2015, an archive album just out on Hive Mind Records. Our Albums of the Month take us to Tunisia and La Reunion islands. The 1st one is 'Rûwâhîne' by Ifriqiyya Electrique on the amazing Glitterbeat label, rough Tunisian banga gnawa shaken up by punk rock and industrial sounds, heavy for the senses. 2Nd album is the compilation Oté Maloya on Strut Records with folky and funky recordings from the 70's and 80's.
